FREE FILM FOR MEMBERS AND GUESTS Before Hōkūle‘a and Nainoa Thompson, there was Mau Piailug… MNHCoC members and guests are invited to a free screening of Papa Mau, The Wayfinder at 7 pm, Wed., Oct. 1 in the Grand Wailea Theater at the ROCK Family Center. Seating is first come, first served.

This inspiring film documents the lasting legacy of Micronesian master navigator Mau Piailug, who revived the art of traditional voyaging and reawakened cultural pride throughout Polynesia. Filmmaker and former Hōkūle‘a crew member Na`alehu Anthony will be on hand to introduce the film and answer audience questions.

This is the perfect film to see prior to the dawn arrival of canoes, featuring Mo‘okiha o Pi‘ilani, at the opening protocol for the 8th Annual Business Festival on Thursday, Oct. 2.
